Alpha Chi Omega’s national philanthropy is Domestic Violence Awareness. Since 1992, Alpha Chi Omega chapters across the nation have fought the tragic actions that one in four women nationwide suffer. To stand against domestic violence we provide education, awareness, and support to our communities as well as sisters.

The Kappa Upsilon chapter locally supports the Lotus House and In Transition Shelter, which provides shelter and outreach services for domestic violence victims and their families. To support the shelters, the chapter holds multiple events and donation drives year-round. As well as having carnival days organized where sisters are able to come in play with the children of the shelter.
In February, we educate our peers through Healthy Relationships week, where we really get into detail as to what a healthy relationship is like and how to look out for signs of domestic violence (something that can come in many forms). We also host Omega Man, a pageant within our Greek life, where a philanthropic representative is chosen. This large event was able to raise over $10,000 in 2016.

Alpha Chi Omega members are not only passionate about our own philanthropy but also are involved in numerous events within the community such as Relay for Life, Dance Marathon, and Alternative Breaks, just to name a few. Not to mention the various others we participate in to show our community and world the love and respect it deserves.

Our first ever Alpha Chi Cook-Off, where several fraternities came out to participate and raise money for our local philanthropy, Inn Transition.
